what's the equivalent GPU (performance) to Intel GMA950 from ATi or Nvidia?

Performance is terrible - integrated X300 and 6200 solutions are 2-4 times the speed.

Yeah GMA950 is definitely not for gaming. But, to be fair, none of the integrated options are.

As noted even a basic card like an X300 would be considerably faster.

It plays 3 year old + games alright, i managed to swing civ4 at minimum settings, no problems with warcraft 3 or tft.

Its ok for light gaming.

You simply dont run high settings on something that low end.

Its in no way a gaming card. I have one in my laptop and it is enough to run windows nicely.. which is what it was designed for.

You can run 1024x768 with lower in game settings.

But not everyone considers the other quality settings "must have".

Especially with a 50 cent graphics chip.

Dun Dun Dun....INTEL SUCKS.

However, my 82865G Integrated can run older games. Settings maxed, but lower res.

Halo: 1024x768 @ 25-30 FPS
BF1942 1024x760 @ 25 FPS, 10-15 in cities.
BF Vietnam 640x480 @ 20 FPS

THose are all 2002-2003 games so yeah. But that will all change with my new X1300 hehehe.

It really depends on the title and the age of the game, you wont be playing 2005-2006 titles on it, ill agree.

But i run tons of older games on my E1505, and like i said, even civ4.

Well... not exactly as GMA950 has better support for latest games plus it performs better.

TNT2 Ultra equivalent would be the first generation Intel, the 845G, or 845GE.

To put integrated graphics in summary: NONE of the integrated solutions even match X300SE. X300SE like a Radeon 9600 non-pro except with 64-bit memory.

the gma950, is i think just barely in the force fx5200 range of graphics.

the x300se is pretty slow. a geforce 6150 might be able tto match it with dual channel ram (sinc ethe se only has 64bit)
