I know this is from the Inquirer, but since it is an editorial, I found it interesting...
AMD Design will Kill Competition
If this ends up playing out as the author describes, it will be interesting to see what advantages this headstart will be giving AMD. For once Intel will actually be designing a chip to be compatible with an AMD design and not vice versa.
I'm not a fanboy of either side and honestly wish something like the PowerPC or Itanium caught on so that we could get rid of x86 and start with a new design to base future enhancements on...but I really do love the competition we have going between these two companies. AMD is continuing to really step up and its causing both companies to really put out some great processors.
