They didn't knock that one out of the park, they knocked it into the next state.

Yet even with the great guidance for 2011 the INTC pps remains flat at the open.

Translation: They have a big profit margin on their products unlike AMD who lost money by selling theirs. They sure lost money on mine who was supposed to be a quad. And now it is, actually.

hmmm, I blame the dividend. $0.32 twice a year? 3%?

Yeah, dividend stocks don't have as much need to change in share price.
Compare it to something like Apple, where the only way investors see a return is through an increase in stock price, Intel gives more money out when they make more money, so that's your return.

Still, good to know their NV payments for the next few years + AMD payments + EU payments (IIRC) have been covered by the profit from one quarter.

Their stock price, today after announcing is flat or going down, investors are debating that Intel is so big, their own forecasts of business are always 'off', lol----guess thats not to bad of a problem.
Also thier current minor role in , tablets , smart phones, why Nvidia's stock is currently going through the roof and AMD's is, well

Intel is the first major technology company to report its fourth-quarter results.
"The problem is, Intel's forecasting ability is no better than a coin toss," he said, while maintaining an "outperform" rating on the shares.
"Last year, when the Street was skeptical about the second half, the company gave a very bullish guidance and a few weeks later they negatively pre-announced. So people take Intel's forecasts with a bucket of salt."
He and other analysts also cited lingering concerns about the company's minor role in the fast-growing market for smartphones and tablet computers.

The reason the stock is flat is because Intel has far less room for future growth compared to say Apple. With such dominant market shares in the server, desktop PC and mobile PC space, they would need to enter new markets to significantly increase their revenue streams. Although it is odd to see that no extra value is reflected in the stock despite a massive increase in Net Income 2010 vs. 2009.

Who knows, you report your best quarter and year in your 40 year history, announce that next year will be even better, and your stock price languishes.

Just wish they weren't taking AMD's price with them.

. the problem is.. stock price is not just about your own company, but the state of the world economy and the tech industry as well... so there's a lot of doubt on that front...

The Semi Index is at a three year high. Macro economic factors should affect that also.

Thing is apple's profitability is much higher. Vs their revenue. Intel's revenue is high but their profit is relatively less % wise.
