MicroCenter's email has 3 bundles. As I understand it, the bundles don't really have bundle pricing. The the price of the bundle is just the sum of the prices of the items in the bundle. Am I missing something?

Since I need a new MB, CPU and memory, and I don't want to pay a bunch, I'm interested in bundle #1:
  • E8400 for $190
    Asus P5K P35 775 MB for $140
    Corsair DDR2-800, 2x1GB, 5-5-5-12 for $40 AR
I think they seem to be well-matched. Comments?

Fortunately, I live fairly close to 2 MicroCenters. I'll have to see if they still have the CPUs in stock after the weekend, though.

Do these things go on sale tomorrow (Monday) at all other stores? Also, any recommendations on an inexpensive MB for overclocking this thing since the IP35-E is out of stock at newegg?

The DFI Blood Iron and MSI Neo2-FR are both good and cheap overclockers. The Neo2 is $99 AR at NewEgg right now.

Now to look for a uATX board and memory to complete my HTPC.

I'm planning buying Asus P5E-VM HDMI, a uATX board. It's the latest G35 Chipset. Not that many choices for uATX boards.

How come newegg don't have these? They usually have the lastest stuff. Wonder how this compare to the Q6600, dual-core 3.0 vs quad-core 2.4.

Most retailers won't list the E8400 until the 22nd. AFAIK, the QX9450 and the other new quads were delayed until late February.

I registered here just to say "Thanks" for the tip on Central Computer. I went to the one in Newark, and they had 11 E8400 when I went in on Saturday. Price was $215.95., and the total was $234.85 after tax.

still haven't gotten a confirmation from compsource. I've ordered like mid last week too. =/ Should have just waited, it wasn't like I got an awesome deal anyways.

Question...on NCIXUS, if it's still showing the price of the E8400 as $188.49 in the cart, is that the price I will pay or will it adjust later?

Got an email from Antaresdigital today saying it was shipping today. To my dismay that would put it getting here Thurs. and I was hoping to get it here by Wed. Called them and complained that it was listed as in-stock and my account was charged on Thurs/Fri even though it wasn't shipping till today. Explained that the main reason I jumped on it was because I wanted it by Wed and that I could have got it by Wed from Newegg for $4 more. Well, now for $4 more, I'm getting it shipped 2nd day and should get it Wed. Received confirmation and tracking number.

I received an email from Microcenter this morning stating that the E8400 is back in stock. I was at the St. Davids, PA store Sunday and they were OOS. Guess I'll try again today.

FWIW I received my E8400 from Antares Digital without any problems (UPS).

Shipped faster than the egg. box in good condition etc.

I'll know if it works tomorrow! :D

Huh? After all the thanks you get, one complaint stops you?

If it bothers you, it's your fault for letting it.

Okay, I'm having terrible service from Compsource. I ordered on the 17th and haven't gotten any word whether or not thye have shipped it. I chose expedited processing so I expected to get some kind of a confirmation whether or not it has shipped. I emailed them and all the dude said was "It is being shipped out today", no tracking number or anyting. When I emailed him back he didn't respond. I also tried calling but no one would pick up or return my calls. Also, my credit card has been charged on the 19th...............So WTF

FWIW, I got a "Back in Stock" email from Micro Center today. Reminder: it's in-store only (according to the email). I didn't know it was out of stock, but I'm not surprised. Everything in the body of the email is identical to the previous one. (See it here: http://cps7.00b.net/498/conten...01.19.viewonline.html)

I'm leaning more to the Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3R $126.99 + shipping at Newegg, though, instead of the Asus P5K P35 775 MB for $140 from Micro Center that I mentioned yesterday.

@jaredpace: How long did it take you to edit all your posts? Was it worth it?
