Buy a CPU get a free MB basically. I want this CPU but I'd rather pay a little more and get a different MB. I just wish Fry's would have the same deals on their website. I'm 250 miles from their nearest store.

Hmmm, I have a friend who wants an e8400 and I want a mATX mobo for my HTPC... I think this just might work :)

I'm assuming that since this board comes with an e8400 it supports the higher fsb which means it should support a BSEL mod e6320, right?

This deal must not be at all Fry's stores. I looked at the advertisement for the DFW Fry's, and this deal is not listed.

Just picked one up at the Renton, WA Fry's, total was $238 after our crazy sales tax. My friend is buying the cpu from me for $210 so I get the motherboard for $30 which works great for me.

Thanks again op for the heads up on the deal!

Retail or OEM? Most of the time Fry's combos are retail, but it would be nice to know for certain.

Well, I just picked one up at the san marcos frys and to my surprise it was a retail processor with 3 year warentee. I think that this was a mistake though because when I called earlier the csr said that it was the oem chip that was included. =)

Okay, I just found the special in the DFW advertisement. I looked at the motherboard on the ECS Web site and it looks really pathetic. This board supports 2 GB RAM max at a max speed of 667 MHz? This makes the deal kind of sour for me. If this had been a better motherboard, then I might have considered the combo.

The only reason I wanted the board is for my HTPC where I don't need more than 2GB of ram or alot of features. It should work just fine for minor gaming and hd content watching.

geforce 7050 supports 4gb. the specs are wrong.

Thats an interesting claim... I'll give this a try tonight (if I have time). I can grab two of the 2GB STT modules from my e8400 box and see if I can get the system to boot fine. It would be really cool if it supported 4GB of ram though not neccesary for my application.

EDIT I just looked around and the other boards I found when searhing for "GeForce7050 / 610i (MCP73V)" all showed 4GB as the max ram (MSI, PC-Chips, and Biostar). Funny enough I even found an ebay listing for this same board that claims 4GB as the max ram so I am thinking that the ECS page may indeed be wrong.

Rythan, there are two skus... if you ask them to use the one ending in 90 you will get the retail box... that is of course if they have the retail box in stock. Otherwise they will use the sku ending in 80 which is the tray cpu with only a 1 year warranty. Same price to use the 90 sku so if its worth the time... you might want to go back and switch it.
