Intel DP965tl mobo and RAID

i'm building my first pc and was about to order the intel dp965 mobo as it seems fairly reliable however i wish to run RAID 0 with my two HDD and just relised that the mobo doesn't support sata RAID....

can any1 suggest some options i could take ?
for example would it be okay if i just buy a separate sata raid controller card and put it in a spare pci express x1 slot? (could any1 suggests a good sata raid controller care as well)
not sure wot to do one of the reasons i'm getting this mobo is due to the low cost it seems if i buy a raid controller card it will be aorund the same price as the gigabyte 965p ds3 mobo....

Knowing what you were going to do primarily would assist greatly in motherboard selection.

Also the other build components that you have selected so far.

i'm building this pc mainly for gaming and also video editing......not planning on overclocking
the parts i've selected so far is:

cpu: conroe E6400
vga: asus 7900gs
hdd: (WD 250gb sataII 16mb) x2
ram :corsair 2x1gb DDr2 pc4200 value ram
dvd: dvw-11D black pioneer dvd-r
case :antec sonata II with 450W psu

initall selection of mobo is Intel DP965LT.....however not so sure now after learning about the lack of raid support....

a Intel 975x based motherboard is probably your best choice. ABIT and MSI have decent value boards out that are right about where that other board is at price wise....
