In Anandtech's review of DP55KG/DP55SB, they say: "We uncovered a bug with the two Intel boards when testing with our i5 670 Clarkdale CPU. At stock or overclocked, the 16x PCI-E 2.0 graphics card slot dropped to 1x link width. This only happened with the Clarkdale, our i7 870 CPU ran with the full 16x speed. "
My question is, would I run into the same bug with a i5 750 Lynnfield CPU? I also seem to think I read somewhere that it was only an issue with XP, but not with Win7? (I will install Win7 64bit).
My video card will likely be a EVGA GTS 450 or possibly a GTX 450. I'm not a gamer, but I do like a decent video card. Watch netflix movies.
Also, has anyone built system using DP55KG/DP55SB, or DP55WG? If so, any comments?
Read on if you want to read other comments reference new build, in case anyone wants to recommend a different mobo with a i5 750 cpu (or possibly an i7 if the price of those drops real soon).
SLI/Crossfire, RAID, PS 2 ports, floppy connector, PATA, all of these are are not deal breakers if they come with board, but I will have no use for any of them and will not be using them. (I have usb floppy drive, and all my drives are SATA)
I want stability, so while I know many mobo's will overclock far better than Intel's, I haven't overclocked since the days of the Celron 300-400.
Do want: Intel NIC (everybody uses realtek or marvell nowadays-ugh). As many usb ports as possible. AT least 6 SATA ports. Onboard audio (I guess they have that nowadays) but just basic audio (I'm tone deaf I guess, it sounds the same to me whether on expensive or cheap system).
