Intel D850MV

I am thinking of getting a D850MV mobo with a p4-1.7ghz CPU. The purpose is to configure a screaming game machine mainly for simulations. The graphic card suggested to me is a geoforce 3 ti 500. Can someone help me configure a really good machine.

Thanks,
Anurag

Here's my idea of a good gaming machine:

1.8GHz P4
Asus P4T-E
Geforce 3 Ti 200
256MB of Samsung RDRAM

The 1.8GHz will hit 2GHz+ without a problem, all you have to do is up the bus speed to 115mhz. If you get a Ti 200 from a good company like VisionTek, Asus or MSI it should overclock to Ti 500 speed with ease.

Any specific reason why you suggest the Asus P4t-E over the intel board? I live in India and I am not sure if Asus P4t-e would be available here. I guess the intel boards dont have over clocking and raid feature, and hence not preffered. I am not an expert so i wont be messing around with these settings, if I dont have to. Besides this, any other reason for not recommending intel?

thanks for your response!

I have a 1.9GHz P4 on a D850MVL (the one with onboard LAN) and a GF3 Ti500. Very nice, and I'd highly recommend it. The Intel board is nice and stable...

I own both the Intel D850MV and the Asus P4T-E. If your not overclocking you will be VERY happy with the Intel board.

If your not planing on overclocking get the Intel board. Its just as stable and fast as the Asus board.
