Intel D845GEBV2/D845PESV

Documentation (here, and here) says the Intel D845GEBV2/D845PESV supports up to 2GB of RAM, but then, it goes on to say that 1GB sticks of PC2700 have not been 'validated' for use, despite the board being designed with those parameters in mind.

Given that I want to use the motherboard in a game server setup (Source-based), I want to install as much RAM as is possible. Thus, I want to max it out at 2GB, but am worried it will either damage the motherboard/memory/system, or be unstable.

Does anyone have experience with this board in particular? I need to know if it can handle 2 x 1GB PC2700.

Also: not to push my luck, but should PC3200 work just as well? (not officially supported)

Shouldn't be a problem, just get double rank (sided) modules built with 64Mx8 (512Mbit) DRAM components and use the latest BIOS. Avoid the overclocking or enthusiast lines that require more than 2.6V.
