Intel CPU Price Reductions - Exactly when???

I thought Intel was reducing most 800 mhz HT CPU prices right about now. Does anyone know when the lower prices will actually take effect??

Yeah something like that. And the 2.4C (the most attractive chip right now) isn't getting a price cut.

The 3.0C has already dropped below $300. But who needs a 3.0 when you can get a 2.4 for half the price and better performace 🙂

You can get them now with coupons and a price match for <$150 so I do not think they are going to drop much. There are rumors out that they will stop selling the 2.4 and maybe even the 2.6.

I already found one (MonarchComputers.com) site that is taking orders at the anticpated reduced prices. You can order now and they will begin filling the orders and shipping on this Monday, 10/27.

I don't recall all the prices but I do know the P4 2.8C 800 FSB with HT is dropping from $269 to $239. This is what I am going to pick up. The 2.6C, 3.0C, and 3.2C also dropped. The 2.4C price was not affected at this site.

Only catch is there are not cancellations. Has me wondering if the price might drop a little lower. I doubt it, but I've been watching NewEgg to see if they make any changes. If I see no changes in NewEgg's prices by Friday I'm going to order from

hahaha i payed 215 for this board and over 400 on this gig of memory

i like my 1.8p4m that oc's to 2.5+ghz

HT would be nice tho and the chance at a 3ghz oc

I does look like the price drops are already starting. Monarch is dropping price but won't ship until the 26th. Zipzoomfly is undercutting Monarch but all their stock is on backorder status. Meanwhile Newegg is sticking to the old prices.

There's usually a pretty tight price distribution but right now prices are all over the place.

It's also interesting to see that 2.4 is going up in price. Probably since it's going EOL.

The 2.6C will be dropping to about the same price as the 2.4C is currently. The 2.4C will not be dropping in price from what I have read, only the 2.6C and higher. May have to pick me up another 2.6C for myself. 🙂
