Man, I wish there was a Fry's B&M store by me 🙁! Seems like a real good deal for people with a Fry's B&M nearby 🙂.

I think they have a 2GB DDR2-667 sale for $45AR too (as shown in another thread in "Hot Deals"), so there you have it, a good "base" for a cheap Core 2 Duo PC!

Edit: Also, even though the ad shows the retail version of the E4300, people have been reporting that they're getting OEM CPUs, yet others have said they do indeed get the retail versions. So you may need to figure in the cost of a good CPU HSF. Perhaps an Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro for ~$20?

Edit2: Can someone going to Fry's B&M during lunchtime to pick this up.....also get a set for me? 😉

Look at the other thread. You can find 2GB DDR2-533 for $45AR. Paired that with this and you can build a cheap system.

I saw this combo on another thread and some said they were receiving OEM CPUs. I went to Fry's at lunch and i was given a retail boxed e4300 (batch Q702A476) with 3 yr warranty (San Diego on Aero Dr). I've bought other combos in the past and they were OEM CPUs. I'm a happy camper! Definitely a steal considering the CPU goes for $115 at the egg and I can return it quickly if there are any issues. It was an impulse buy but heck i want to see how far I can OC this thing once I get my swiftech water cooler kit.

BTW, they also have the Antec Solo on sale and it's $25 AR. I already have one and it's a quality, solid and silent case. It's a little small for my water cooling project so I bought a P182B for $159 which is not that a good of a deal but cheaper than ordering one online and paying the shipping cost. If quad cpus come down to say $400 i'm on it!
