Intel Chipset software or mainboard one?

Should I use the latest Intel Chipset Software Installation Utility from Intel, or the one MSI give on their LiveUpdate (which is slightly older but for my mainboard).

the intel site can sometimes be a pain to navigate but i usually just use the drivers from there

Excellent, just confirming if Intel's one would be only for Intel boards. I'll take Intel's then.

Question. I tried to put the newest version on a week ago, and lost my D drive (wasnt listed in windows). I am not sure why, but when I reverted back to a 2002 version of this software, it reappeared. Any ideas as to why, or how to get a clean install of the newest version?
