Intel chipset difference

What is the difference in the intel 975 chipset and the intel p965 chipset??? I am asking because I will be building a conroe system. And is the nvidia 570 a good alternative???

975X is a bit older, and generally more expensive.

The popular understanding is that P965 overclocks better with the Core 2s that have 2 MB of L2 cache, and 975X overclocks better with the others.
