I don't know how many of you, who are holding a cc820, have replced your mobo. I did, and I have replaced it yesterday.

In early July I called the number on the support page http://support.intel.com/support/9089.htm If you wanna call, you can try (800) 628-8686 and option 4 (if i remember right). It should be related to the MTH problem.

Since I don't know where my mobo was purchased, the CSR got all my info and told me I will be contacted by a Intel reseller closed to my area in 2 weeks.

To my surprised, I really got a call from a reseller last week, and after he confirmed everything with me, he said he will order the mobo and schedule a replacement with me.

And yesterday, the reseller person called me up and told me that the replacement has arrived. And in 2 hrs, he came to my home and replaced my mobo. I kept my 256MB SDRAM and gave him my cc820. Guess what's in return? a brand new vc820 and 128MB PC-800 RDRAM!!!!!!

It is now option 3. I have called that number at least 10 times and they have repeatedly told me I would get a call, I still have not. I am glad it worked out for you rominl.

I got my VC820 and 128 MB RDRAM, but they just said send the CC820 board back in the same box...My question is did you send just the board (no cables, driver CD, etc...) or everything you had that came with it? Thank you.

Well, Andy, since I am only having a 533... I don't see how fast it can go... might just save the 256MB I have for my upcoming sytem :D

Insomniac, I just sent my board in. I kept the cable(s), cpu stand, manual, CD (though I have no idea why I keep them). I told the person who installed the thing for me to take them as well, but he said he just need the board, so I have so many extras now.

Good for you Insomniac, so how's your system going? Did you get PC800?

I did get PC800, but I have not had time to install it. I will this weekend. I will play with it for a week and give it to my Dad. He just got a P3-933 for $350 and I figure it will run better on a RDRAM platform compared to my P3-500.

I'm looking forward to upgrading around or after X-Mas...I am interested in seeing some P4 numbers and AMDs new proccesor's numbers as well as NV20 and Rampage numbers.

wow, that's good. i have a feeling that i will skip the next generation of everything... (no money :()

BTW, Intel directly sent you the mobo, or a reseller contacted you? Why you have to mail back the board yourself?

This is actually funny...

As you know, PC Mall refused to help me out and said it was Intel's responsibility. Well Ispoke with Intel for 2 months, and they kept telling me I'd get a call. I never did. They had to escalate my case twice, and I also e-mailed them through the MTH site explaining my 'ordeal' with them and how I expected much more from Intel. Well, someone called while I was at work, got my address and also said they would call back. They did not, but three days later I had a VC820 and 128 MB PC800 RDRAM at my door via UPS Next Day Air.

This is the best part. There was a very quick set of instructions. Said I needed to send the CC820 back in the same box. Well, the inside of the box says Airborne Express, the instructions say to call 1-800-GO-FEDEX and they will come pick it up and the pre-paid mailer is for UPS 2nd Day Air! I'm just sending it back UPS tomorrow. There was also no contact information, so I have no one to call. If I call the number above, I just get a call center in Scotland and they can not help at all.

haha... that's funny. though i wonder what would happen if you don't even ship it back (don't try it though). but glad that you got it finally. try it this weekend. when i had the cc820, i had 256mb ram. now i have 128mb ram. don't see any faster, but at least not slower.

and glad to say, so far (if i remember right), it hasn't crashed once yet (running winme and 24/7). might be a good thing :D
