- Core i7-6800K - 630$
Predecessor: 389$
- Core i7-6850K - 890$
Predecessor - 594$.
And it goes on, and on, and on...

Intel really needs to feed their fabs with money to mitigate the increased production costs.

Thanks for the laugh, anyone taking these early listing prices as serious. Priceless!

Nah don't worry those prices are temporary. The 10 core at over 2000$ is amusing to see tough... wonder how many will preorder that.
Btw if you slide them down one notch each it makes sense:

389 for 6800k (6-core at similar price);
630 for 6850k (6-core ");
890 for 6900k (8-core at slightly less than current 5960k);
1500 for 6950k (10-core new top chip).

Agreed. I'm gunning for a 10 core and even defended a 1500 USD price tag but 2300 is laughable, and there's no way I'll believe that Intel expends to command that kind of price for an hedt cpu

$2400 huh, that's even worse than the NewEgg price gouging when the QX6700 launched. That thing hit maybe $1600 thanks to their algorithms.

That alone is still WAY too much, if you ask me.

Yea, agreed. They should just move down the price stack. Only one hex core, priced similar to 5820k, 8 core 600 ish and ten core 1k. Dont know why they have 2 hex cores.

Really, what they should do is make the hex core mainstream, and relegate 8 and 10 cores to the HEDT. Price the mainstream hex core like 5820k, 8 core around 600 and 10 core 1000.

AdamK47, let us know how that 10 core 6950x performs when you get it ( I know you'll get it! :thumbsup:😀)

Are you keeping your 4 Titan Xs and waiting until the Vega is released?

Problem with the 10 core, unless you have productivity apps that can use the threads, I dont really think it will help in gaming. Might even be slower if it overclocks less.

With fast cores like Intel has, I think 6 core with HT is the sweet spot for High end gaming.

NCIX always posts high prices as placeholders. It was the same with the 6700k, and it'll be the same with SKL-E. Just wait for the launch.
