Hehe, hey dont laugh, Intel sells more of these integrated graphics processors that Nvidia and ATI combined. Regardless whether it sucks or not.

Yea really Intel controls the vast majority of the market anyway, it doesn't matter what they release, what else are people gonna buy? I don't think a computer newbie, shopping around at BestBuy knows that a computer even HAS a graphics chip (or card).

In honour of this, I decided to pimpafy the name "Intel Extreme Graphics", and got: G. Digital Intel Slim.

This marks a great moment in IGP history.

Bingo. And then if they "do know about the Three-Dee Cards" ... they buy a geForce FX5200 OMGZ TEH DX9 AND HARDWARE T&L PHOR FUTUAR GAEMZ0RX0RZ HL2 DOOM3 FARCRY*!!1!1!1!!!!!

But then again, the majority of computer users do not game at all which is why these IGP's are perfect for them.

Man, thats bull. Its all CPU and memory power that got it over 5000 marks. My geforce 3 ti200 @ ti500 speeds got 1100 on 3dmark 2k1 paired with a 3.3ghz intel p4 on i865pe.

That's what makes it sadly funny.

Impressive for Integrated. I wonder what PCI-Express may offer to Integrated solutions if anything.

haha you know the old saying "AMD couldn't sell water to a man dying in the desert, but somehow Intel manages to sell ice cubes to eskimos ;)"

No, the 915G may not be bad in the final driver and final hardware revision. Didn't u see that it says the driver is premature?
And look at this link:
http://www.hkepc.com/hwdb/ieg3-1.htm

In the second page it shows specs of various graphics core from Intel that was illustrated(I also heard that the 915G graphics core will not be called "Extreme Graphics")

which says the fill rate is: 333MHz x 4 pixel pipelines = 1.33Gigapixel theoretical fill rate. If u look at the third page it shows fill rate of 650Megatexels useful fillrate. Which means the core is half the clock of what it will be at the final version. And if anyone says maybe that's because its achieving approximately 50% of its fillrate, I gotta say NO. Because its a Zone Rendering architecture, it achieves nearly 100% of theoretical fillrate. If u look at that fact, it means at final version with the current unfinished drivers, it will be nearly 10000 3dmark 2001 points. And if u look at the chinese site link it says at current preliminary version, the pixel shader is not working properly(translate it). And the graphics is using DDR 400 memory not DDR2 533. So, look of performance increases to go(I am not saying its all great and stuff I am saying it will be much better in the final version).

Totally, I would be the first to buy onboard if it performed at all decently. Just such a simple appealing solution, no compatability problems, fans etc. Actually I am considering buying a simple onboard solution for a super quiet music and playing go online setup. Finding the room is really what is holding me back.

So now they have an IGP as fast as the one available from nV for 18months now and it only took a new chipset and 3.6ghz CPU to manage it

OEM's are going to sell tons of Celery based systems with this chipset, can't wait to see the performance with a 3ghz Celery in it ;)
