BobDaMenkey has finally reached the computer nerd low: debating over a brand name. Don't worry, Bob, it only gets better from here on out.

THERE IS NO THING AS A CENTRINO PROCESSOR.

Centrino is Intels brand of mobile solutions. A laptop is allowed to be called a Centrino laptop only when it has a combination of an intel mobile processor, an intel chipset and an intel wireless solution.

The technicality: Centrino only accepts certain kinds of processors, mine is one of those, so it's a centrino processor.

Yes and no. You have a Pentium Mobile, or a Celeron Mobile, or a Core Duo or a Core 2 Duo, you do not have a "Centrino" processor. It can be classified as such, but you can and should be more speicific about it.

I do not have a 1.73ghz Centrino processor. I have a 1.73ghz Pentium M. Please people, make the distinction. Especially if you're trying to show it off or sell it.

Who gives a flying....

Yeah. I'm pricing out different ultra-portable laptops, and if I don't know what kind of processor it actually has, I can't properly compare it to something else, or know what kind of power consumption it'll have.

And I work at a GNC. If you start mixing terms because they are 'similar' you can start screwing your body up real bad.

"What's the difference between creatine and protien? You just need one or the other right? I mean you take them after your work out, so you only need one right?"

And being an informed buyer and not being able to get the right info from the seller because they don't know what they have.

Like not being able to distinguish between mobile and desktop Core 2 Duos, or having an Intel based Mac and still insisting it's not a PC?

Exactly why I stick with AMD...
lol, ok, so you pick a processor because of the name and what other people call it? Maybe it's just me, but that sounds like a fanboy comment ;)

Sprite is not Coke. Root beer is not Coke. Pepsi is most certainly not Coke. Knock it off!

Oh, but Sprite is Coke in the same way Mt. Dew is Pepsi.

Yea, it's sad. I have family that still refer to all consoles as "Nintendos". My aunt came over to my apartment one day, saw my 360 and said "what a pretty white nintendo" :(
