Intel Apples

No. OS X is only licensed for use on Apple hardware (and is likely to remain that way for the foreseeable future).
 
people are getting to developer versions of OSX to run on regular PCs. Apple is sure to lock that up before the actually release. One of the main functions of Apple's OS is to sell its expensive hardware.

This is supposedly true, but no one can be sure until the actual hardware is for sale.

This is not. Apple can't survive on OS X and iPod sales alone, the need to sell hardware. The current stories are that the Apple Intel hardware will have an Apple TPM module onboard and OS X will only install/run if that hardware is present, Windows will still work because it'll ignore the TPM module.

The money lost there is nothing compared to what they would lose if you didn't have to buy their hardware.
 
With the current bad taste that Micro$oft is leaving with many users, this looks like it would be a great opportunity for Apple to gain a huge share of the market. There are many that don't like Windows and M$ methods yet do not have the expertise to make the Linux leap. An OS alternative for the "novice" user should gain a pretty good market share.

Bare minimum investment to "try" an Apple is the Mac Mini at $500, assuming you have a spare keyboard, mouse, monitor to use with it. Loading OSX on an existing PC will garner them more revenue than a user heavily invested in a PC and stays with M$

But that user heavily invested in Windows will likely stay heavily invested in Windows since all of their games, apps, etc only work in Windows. It's going to be a huge ordeal to switch to any OS from another.

My WinXP Pro box works flawlesslly. Doesn't crash, does what I need and it's fast. Same with my DVD Burning/Ripping box and my Laptop. They don't crash at all.

I dunno....never underestimate the power of stupid users. They will screw up any OS no matter what.

I had a customer who deleted THE ONLY user account on WinXP WHILE she was logged in. I do not have ANY idea how she did this because that is not possible...yet she did it. I don't think I could do it if I tried =/

unless you know the right way to get OSX to run on a PC. there's two ways now. emulation or the direct installation. let me tell you, emulation is SLOOWWWWWWWW

My windows machine doesn't crash. Ever. Unless I get bored and "play." But I'd still rather use my Mac or OpenBSD machines for as many tasks as I can.

Maybe he's tired of the way Windows works. I was/am.
