The 90% (that was your or someone else's number to start with BTW) is Joe Average who has NFC what's going on in the industry and is lead around by the balls by Intel. So if Intel decides on a 3rd 64bit IA then Joe Average is still gonna go with Intel (because they don't understand or "see" any other option, ie: AMD, whoever). Despite any big talk they wanna make MS can't afford to turn their back on even a small fraction of the market (hence they've suported Alpha (historically), IA64, x86-64, etc.... even though they only represent perhaps 15% or less of the market), if they could afford to tell off or give up one of those potential revenue streams then they alread would have.
