6, of course. AMD doesn't do hyperthreading. They believe in using physical cores (hence the Bulldozer design).

AMD Working on Black Edition Phenom II X6 Part
AMD's lineup of six-core desktop processors under the Phenom II X6 banner indeed includes a high-end part. A Bahrain-based etailer disclosed prices of some of the models, which includes a Phenom II X6 1090T Black Edition. This chip operates at 3.20 GHz, with a TDP of 125W. Being a Black Edition part, it sports an unlocked BClk multipler that helps overclocking. AMD plans to sell this chip at US $295. The Phenom II X5 1055T is the other part with a price-tag. This 2.80 GHz chip also has its TDP at 125W, although we've lead to believe that AMD will release a 95W variant, too. The 1055T goes for US $199. Both chips are based on the "Thuban" core, which feature six cores on a monolithic die, with 9 MB of total chip cache (512 KB L2 per core, and 6 MB L3 shared).

I am glad my tax refund took so long to come back. Now I will wait until the Thuban is released, and by that time I hope Fermi is out as well to drive down the prices of the 5800 series graphics cards. A 1090T at $300 would be just fine for me.

What is currently more obscure are the new Phenom II X4 "T" processors. SiM industry sources close to us have indicated that the new processors will be based on the same cores as the Phenom II X6, so they likely can be unlocked in to full six cores - if you're lucky - and should feature the same 6MB of L3 cache and Turbo Boost like technology.
There will be two models available, Phenom II X4 960T running at 3.3GHz and the 940T running at around 3GHz. These clock speeds are without the Turbo functionality activated.

Better ULK dielectric possibly.

I heard about them doing that with Thuban, but I can't find the reference right now. The only think I could find on ULK is this. I don't know when it's from.

Question in my mind as well.

Although, perhaps this is closer to the MC tech than the current Phenom II tech they have? MC has twelve cores, clockspeeds of 2.2 - 2.6 (last I heard), and TDP isn't astronomical. Cut that in half, you've got 6 cores, and getting 2.8 - 3.4 GHz doesn't look as impossible. Or if not MC, then the Istanbul hexa-core opterons they had for almost a year now (9 or 10 months maybe)? I seem to recall it also had low TDP.

Intel plans to launch two processors - Core i7-875K and Core i5-655K - that have unlocked multipliers and are targeting the gaming market, according to sources from motherboard makers.
The 32nm dual-core Core i5-655K will be launched in early June, while the 45nm quad-core Core i7-875K will be launched in late July, the sources noted.
Intel will launch on April 18 its dual-core 45nm Pentium E5500 and 32nm Core i5-680, the former priced at US$64 and latter US$284, the sources said.
In early June, Intel will launch the 45nm quad-core Core i7-880 for US$562, the 32nm dual-core Core i3-550 for US$133 and the 45nm Pentium E6700 for US$84, the sources said, adding all prices are in thousand-unit tray quantities.
In additional news, channel price of Intel's recently launched Core i7-980X has increased from the launch price of NT$35,000 (US$1,100) to NT$37,000, as the processor is currently in tight supply in Taiwan, the sources said.
Motherboard makers are also preparing more X58 motherboards ahead of Intel's upcoming launch its six-core processors, the sources added.
