OK, so I've never bought stock before or anything, but I follow computer stuff alot and noticed that Intel has been taking a beating this year (kinda like everyone else), and its stock price seems so low considering its market position and all with AMD basically self destructing. So what do you think of this trade, am I a total idiot or maybe do I have a good idea here?

Well, they are getting into the whole Hybrid car battery thing...that might pull a profit in about 30 years.

I had been buying (and selling) Intel for the past two years. I've gotten a pretty good return so far, so I say it's a good buy.

(I don't own any at the moment.)

Well since the economy will always eventually go up, if you hold onto it long enough, you should get a return.

I love threads like this.

I can't wait to come back a year later and post:
<nelson> Ha ha! </nelson>

When in actuality, it's probably a good buy.

I bought it earlier this week for 14.20 FWIW, could have got it better last week, but it took awhile to set up the account.

I would sell after it pops after Big 3 bailout. Market will downtrend again.

Well that's the thing with recessions, everybody is undervalued. There's a thousand companies whose asset:liabilities ratio dictates the stock price should be higher.

I think Intel and AMD are both very bad choices because there are very few high-profit-margin markets that have not yet been met. Nobody needs an Octo-core 16-thread monster. Dual core is enough for anybody. If anything I'd say AMD has a better chance of going up if they can weather the next 9 months.
