Intel 82801FB LPC Interface Controller ? 2640

I have an ASUS P5AD2 Premium. I have an uknown device in Device Manager whose properties indicate an Intel 82801FB LPC Interface Controller ? 2640. I've installed the most recent chipset. Does anybody know what this is and where I can get the driver?

To be precise, it's the bridge over to LPC (the remains of ISA). No driver needed for that, the Intel chipset driver package will just put an ID to it.

I've installed the current 925X chipset drivers from Intel, mumerous times, and the unknown device is still there, with the infamous "big yellow question mark".

Well, you already have the drivers. Time to figure out what the problem is now. 😀

Do you have the latest BIOS?

Maybe try uninstalling that device and allowing XP to detect it again?

I know that there were problems with the ICH6 initially, and they had to be recalled and replaced. Yours boots though, so who knows?

Hope yours says Chipset OK

What's the complaint (see device properties)? No driver installed? Resource problem? General Windows stupidity?
