how bad is this thing? i just got it and i was wondering if i should keep it or get rid of it. i have heard so many different things. what should i do??
Of course, you could always go sell the motherboard and RDRAM, and then still be able to afford something like an ASUS CUSL2 (if your processor is FC-PGA) and get 512MB of SDRAM as well.
It may be good compared to other i820 boards. I really don't know because I've hardly seen any. But about every decent motherboard with the good old BX or i815 chipset combined with SDRAM will give a better overall performance than i820 mobos.
Tom's Hardware site published some comparison tests some time ago and it didn't look good for the i820, especially when you'd consider the much higher price for RDRAM.
But still. I may work just fine for you.
