Intel 640 or 3700+ san diego for "easy multitasking"

I moved from a 3.2C @ 3.6 to a 3000+ @ 2.5. Honestly, the machine feels a bit snappier for single tasks and about the same multitasking as long as I'm not trying to encode video and do a virus scan or something similar.

Thanks MDE thats what I wanted to hear. Will probobly buy the san diego now. Any suggestions on memory that would be best for overclocking/performance? I want to buy some really good memory for my san diego.
And what would be the best SATA NCQ drive with 16MB?

Um, not quite. Remember "it is better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to open one's mouth and remove all doubt." :)

As for memory, I use Corsair XMS in my Athlon XP system (and will probably move it over to my soon-to-be A64 system if that happens), but it seems that these days folks like OCZ (which used to have a really shady reputation) and some other odd brands that I've never heard of.
