Disappointed by the pricing myself.

I think I read the reviews right and correct me if i am wrong but, i would be better off buying the 120GB G2 than buying this one because:

1)120GB G2 is $176 after rebate (dunno how long that'll last) as compared to the $315 for the Intel 510

2)Isn't the 510 4k random reads/writes LOWER than the G2s?

haha, i remember when sata 2 came out i was like 'omg what if i could have a storage drive that would totally saturate the sata 2 interface? naaaaah, pipe dream. hard drives will never be that fast" XD

Disappointed by the pricing myself.

Its the standard price gouging that all the resellers do on new products a disgusting habit.

You need to either wait for a deal or wait 3 months for the prices to settle abit.

If it were me looking to upgrade i'm sticking to intel controller SSD's not too impressed with marvel.

Even the Canadian NCIX place is cheaper than Newegg (no stock though) so this is definitely "new product" pricing. Look at the Plextor M2 - came out @ egg at $700, then quickly dropped to $600 and then even $580 briefly.

This is not an G3 drive this is an intel drive with a marvel controller.

I'm pretty sure we will still see a G3 drive but I believe it will only be SATA 2 and their focus might be on increasing drive size and not performance per say.

im less concerned with performance and more concerned with size going up and price going down

even if they came with a porn star to give me BJS a 600$ 200GB drive isnt worth it

Yes they are. Read Anand's review. He says the 120 will perform noticeably slower. Newegg just copy and pasted the 240 gig specs.
