Intel 3.4E as a cheap overclocking option in 2006?

Right now I have a 2.6C running at nearly 3.4GHz. I don't plan to move to a PCI-e platform for another 18-24 months if I can help it. In your opinion, will a 3.4E be a good, inexpensive overclocking option in a year or so should the need for more processing power arise?

Though i'm not a big fan of the Prescotts, the latest 6xx series P4s do seem to OC very well.

Often i hear people hitting around 4GHz, which is certainly nice

It all depends on what the pricing scheme for both Presler and Cedar Mill will be and what features they have.

Most likely from what is rumored to be spec-ed out, Presler will range between 2.8 ~ 3.8 and Cedar Mill from 2.8 ~ 4.0.

It is possible that the 3.4 will wind up the best bang for buck, but its not a gaurntee.
