Okay,

Let's say both of these processors were the same price +/- 10%. I am thinking of build iDeq 200t box (865 chipset). I would be getting DDR 400 memory.

Here is my question:

Should I get the 3.06 and do a timid O/C (like to 3.2 or so)

or

Should I get the 2.8C and leave it stock.

My concern is that the 3.06 may produce more heat at stock voltage. But I am not sure. I also assume the HT support is identical between these two.

thanks for reading->

2.8C would be your better choice. The fsb would be a big advantage over the 533 even if you don't OC the 2.8C to the same 3.2Ghz, which would be :evil:

I have/am run both of these systems. I would suggest that you consider a 2.6C instead of the 2.8C, however. Unless you plan to run the mem/cpu ratio 1:1 which requires some very high end ram, you can get the same oc with faster fsb on a 2.6C and save some $$ to boot.
