Another pedestrian performance bump, as expected. The availability issue is a real concern, and we need those value boards for the i3 and i5. When do those launch, with the CPUs?

I want to see a Core i5 10400F vs Ryzen 5 3600 review

Both are 6C 12T and cost the same $10 + or -

Currently the more expensive Core i5 10400 (non F) at newegg is available at $195.
The Core i5 10400F should come at $160-170

Also, when B460 boards are coming ??

@AtenRa

Availability seems pretty bad.

I would rather see i5 10400F vs Ryzen 5 4600 . . . you can't buy either one yet, so.

Availability will get better the coming weeks, 4600 could be released in 3-4-5 months from now. Right now the competitor of 10400F is the 3600.
10400 is now available at $195 vs the 3600 at $173, so they are already competitors. 10400 has the same clocks as 10400F, only difference is the iGPU.

Requires a NEW motherboard why would anyone buy a new mobo just for this processor?
Because you're buying/building a new PC so it doesn't matter?

Yes, upgraders would have to buy a new mobo. So they'll probably stay on earlier generations (because those CPUs are still being manufactured).
If you're already on 8-9th gen, 10th gen isn't adding anything beside a wider core count offer.
Yay for competing with a CPU that has been out for over 10 months, and that will be replaced in fewer than 6. Probably September at this rate. Intel was ~5 months late to market with Comet Lake-S.
How is that even remotely important?
Buying a desktop between June and (maybe) September one is choosing between Intel 10th gen and AMD 3000-series. That's it.
It doesn't matter how long ago these CPUs were launched.

Also, from Intel's perspective, Q3 and Q4 is where most of the sales happen. So it will be important when Zen3 arrives and when it actually becomes available.
Even if AMD launches in September, but it takes OEMs few months to finalize their offer, Intel has pretty much secured sales for the second half of the year.

Availability will get better the coming weeks

That remains to be seen. The virus almost has to cripple OEM desktop sales. And Intel is apparently not using the 10 core die in H models so you couldn't even just shift demand there instead. Seems tough to think they are going to spend that many wafers.
