Intel® Desktop Board D915GLVG

The Borg

Senior member
Can anyone help me overclock a Intel® Desktop Board D915GLVG motherboard? I have a P4 3.0 GHz processor in it and 2 x 128 meg memory.

Thanks in advance.

I may be wrong, but generally Intel mobos are basically anti-overclocking (aside from teh BadAxe).

Much, much, much better off getting more RAM.

And I don't think Intel's boards (aside from the latest) have OC'ing options.

Someone posted here that there is a program I could use. Just don't know what it is.

Next time I will buy non-intel boards. I actually have 6 and use them for DC. Memory at this stage is not an issue. I will upgrade to 2 x 512 later in year.

Heh, i imagine Clockgen might work, but i never really like to recommend software-based OCing.

Bios OCing ftw IMHO...

Yeah, you could try clockgen, but with no memory dividers, and no voltage control, you wont' get very far. And 256mb of ram is barely enough to run windows XP at idle unless you do some serious tweaking.

I tried clockgen but no go. Did not even give me anything to change. Next time I buy non-intel mobo. Thanks anyway for the advice.

The memory is fine. I use them (6 off) in a DC rig. Win 2k and BOINC. Nothing else. But I will upgrade before you cannot get DDR memory. BTW, any ideas when DDR will drop off the map?

Considering you can still get PC-133 I'd say it'll be a long while before you cannot buy DDR anymore. The price should start increasing any day now, though.
