Integrating new OS X iMacs on Windows domain

We recently started doing a roll out of new iMacs. The systems are being imaged off a 'base' load and named to match the cube location. The problem is when we bind them to our Windows directory they are sometimes changing their names. When this happens they're pulling a new name that is the same as Windows XP systems currently on the network. Of course, this results in 'duplicate name exists on the network' on the Windows system.

Any ideas why this is happening?

After more searching I might have found the solution. See this thread discussing disabling dynamic NETBIOS name... LINK
