Intalled another 1gb of ram

I just installed another 1gb of ram to make my system 2 gbs i bought refurbished (2X512) to do it on a EVGA SLI board after doing so. My studio TV terminator's video will not work I get sound though. Went to run 3Dmark05 and it freezes up hard. Well i though lets let it sit for a wile i try a game on it. Went to play B2 but want to know my FPS so i windowed out (wasn't in game at the time) and right when i clicked for Fraps i get a blue screen to fast to read it all said windows error something and it restarts on me? Idea?s can all this be due to bad ram or what? I have had no problems before this.

Now battlefied 2 just froze up? should i pull the ram?

Ok odd apparently my TV tuner tells me if I have bad ram or not just took out 1 of the sticks of ram and my tuner?s picture is back now to test 3DMark05 for freezing if it doesn't freeze and I have no freeze problems in B2 could it just have been bad ram and I should RMA the 1 512 stick or do I have to send back both duel channel and all that jazz?

welp it worked goot with 1 of the ram. Put the other back in and started freezing up so is it the ram or the slot.

Trade places with the sticks of ram you just bought. If it freezes it is probably that one stick but if it still runs then it is probably the slot.

Run memtest as Buck suggested on the new memory only. Zero tolerance for any errors at SPD. You can try uping the voltage to see if it is anymore stable.

Ok I tried all the slots swathing them around, tested both new ram and both are good I think I got a dead slot on the end. Do I have to RMA my motherboard back and all the jazz? Seems like a lot of work for 1 dead slot. Wish they would just give me like 50 dollars. I think I might say F it and Just e bay the other 512 and just live with the dead slot.

Maybe you're better off ebaying all 4 dimms and buying 2 X 1 GB rams. Just a thought.
