I am trying to install Adobe Acrobat and half-way thru the installation I get an error. I am on my laptop & I am the administrator. I tried going to the specefied folder but it shows as "read only" when I uncheck the box and click apply it just goes back.

Here is a print screen of the error message:

I also did some research and it says to go to folder options settings and deselect "Use Simple File Sharing" but I dont see that listed.

If you are using XP Home there will be no option to use "Simple File Sharing".

The "Read-Only" checkbox when looking at a Folder means nothing. It's normal Windows behavior. You can't change it. Don't worry about it. That's not your problem.

You can create another account with the administrator rights and then install the software that way. It's a Windows issue.
