yea.. Okay.. we get it.. If I admit that i wanted to show off how big my pee pee is can we get to the actual topic in the OP. Jeez!

Well the topic is pretty simple. It shouldn't have dinged you with a NSF, it did. This happens, we have all had bank charged we shouldn't have, call on Monday and get it reversed.

Yea I know.. So in my case i was only transferring it to HSBC savings. But what if I had absolutely needed that money in the other account for a hosue payment, or some life and death matter like a surgery or something. HSBC wont even attempt a 2nd try for another 4 days due to the 1st decline. In this case I am only losing a weeks worth of interest (which is a nice chunk) but it could be a lot worse.. Thats all im sayin..

You can split the 100K in half and the 2 transactions would go through w/o NSF flag.

If it gets declined a 2nd time then I guess I will have to try it that way. Have to wait and see though, the 2nd attempt will be made Tuesday by HSBC.

Yeah it does suck to find that out the hard way. I know when I tried to transfer my student tuition payment at once after cashing in a bunch of things it didn't go through. Long weekend too so I missed the deadline for a discount and it ended up costing me 2 grand. Live and learn I suppose.

Because he obviously wanted to show everyone he had $100,000 in his checking.
I hope you're being sarcastic cause otherwise you're being a complete bitch
Everyone else agrees with him except you.
That seems to be a running theme lately.

See, BofAhole and other "for profit" banks don't use normal math.
They use "Fuzzy Math" (tm). It's Better! (c).... for them!:laugh:

Because they take your money and make you beg them for it back, even if they're in error, AND you pay them for the privilege to boot.

Nice! 😉

I'm sure somewhere in their reams of fine print there is an exclusion that allows them to do practically anything they want, arbitrarily.

My credit union never does anything like that.

Why are people acting like $100,000 is a lot of money? Ever buy a house? You might someday be depositing a check for $500,000 as it transfers from one lender to another. And not everyone lives check to check. 🙂

Several years ago I had a local Credit Union charge me an NSF fee BEFORE a cheque cleared, so that there would not be enough money in the account for it to clear.

Because it is? most normal people will never seen that much money at one time in their entire lives. I don't live check to check, but the likely hood of me having $100,000 in my account at any time, for any reason. Shit I'd be past to post a screen shot haha. It might not be much to you but I would shat myself with that $$$ in my bank account.

It was BofAhole that did exactly that to me that finalized my departure from them.

It's amazing how many people here think they are such financial gurus that they can deduce the OP's complete financial picture from one post and ONE account for two days. Sheesh.
