No recent threads on this. 🙂

What instruments do you play, how good are you at them? Any other random junk to tell us? Come on. It's therapeutic.

Saxophone - I have experience with Alto, mostly, I played tenor for two years at lower levels, and I played bari enough that I know how to handle it, but not much more. We'll see how good I am tuesday afternoon, when I go in to audition for the Massachusetts HS Central District Jazz Ensemble... and then possibly concert band, too. Myself, I would say I'm pretty decent.

Drums - I'm alright. Can't play jazz/swing very well (don't know how, really, I'm self-taught), and my fills need a bit of work. Proficient, though. I play lefty, for some reason. Nothing else is lefty for me. I just can't work hi-hat with right hand, and my left hand likes to stay on snare. It's weird.

Bass - I can play moderately proficiently, never really stressed my skills, but I'm practicing. Every so often.

Piano - I'd like to pick it up, I was one of those kids that everyone was like "he's good at piano" in elementary school, but I haven't touched it seriously for a long time.... -_-

I wanna try clarinet, too.

Trumpet. And I sucked.
Ooh, except for one song I was really good at -- Revelry. See, on the trumpet it's super easy cuz you just have to do stuff with your lips while holding the first key down.
I really should have played the bugle, I guess. Oh well. Only reason I played trumpet was cuz my grandpa left me the one he played during WWII.

Played Trombone from 5th Grade through College (UW Madison Marching Band). Very good at it.

Piano - took lessons for years. Good at songs I know but not performing quality or anything like that. Just enough to impress friends.

Guitar - I know a few chords.

guitar, keyboard and accordian. i suck at all save guitar but im not so hot at it.
been playing for many years.

i stink but it brings me joy.

Played piano for long time, forgot most by now since it has been three years, but probably oculd pick it back up quickly.

Trying to learn guitar.

^ (I think the fact that the last post was around midnight has to do with the fact that it faded to whatever page its on now)

I was a pretty good alto and bari sax player. I also am competent in flute and recorder since they are pretty much the same as the sax.

I am ok at piano.

I know how to play trumpet, violin and bass but I wouldn't dare get up in front of a crowd.

Piano - Taught myself and played classical for 13 years. I would pick out the most difficult pieces I could, then study them to perfection. Stopped playing about 4 years ago to focus on guitar.

Guitar - Taught myself and have been playing for 5 years. I've put countless hours of practice in from day one, to increase my skills as high as possible. My style is folk-rock. I focus soley on strumming techniques such as triplets and sextuplets. I prefer the sound of alternate tunings and use capo tricks to avoid retuning over and over. And no, I don't know any Dave. 🙂

Didjeridu - Said to myself one day..."I want to play the didjeridu." Real ones are too expensive, so I decided to make my own. Spent $5 on PVC and with some physics formulas, had myself some didjeridus. I can circular breathe to sustain a single note indefinitely. I don't get to play this much, because I'm usually the lead singer (hard to sing and play didjeridu at the same time). 🙂 Although...one time I got to play didjeridu on a PA system hooked up to 15 enormous subs. It was about the coolest thing I've ever heard/felt.

Vocal chords - I sing. LAAAAAAA!!!!! 🙂

Random junk - Had a band all through college. We cut a cd 3 years ago, and went on tour for a summer. Seven of us in a 7-passenger van, traveled 14,000 miles over 2 months, and played 60+ gigs. That was on the of the most stretching/growing experiences EVAR.

I'm done now.
