Instead of showing vitals (CPU, RAM, etc) when booting, is it possible to show a generic boot up screen?

I know it's possible, as the last Dell I saw many years ago would show some generic Dell logo instead of the CPU, RAM, and all that other info you see when booting. Does anyone know how I can do that on a self built PC?

Thanks in advance :)

Why, you thinking of swapping a friends parts?

Intel calls it quiet or quickboot or something like that in the bios, YMMV with other brand boards

This feature is called "Full Screen Boot Logo" and while some motherboards support it, some not. I know for sure all newer Asus motherboards can do that and as a matter of fact, they even come with "BootWizard" utility where you can convert regular BMPs, GIF or JPG into boot logo.

The original program, which is universal to Award BIOS is "cbrom". Do a search for it and try it. If it will work for you, that means your motherboard supports the feature. If not, there is not much you can do unfortunately.

Good luck!
