AIM with DeadAIM for most correspondence.

i use gaim for ICQ and one AIM account that i don't want to check often (but am consistently signed onto. usually, i'm idle for 250+ hours).

i use MSN for the few people abroad who don't use ICQ (and obviously are not going to be caught dead using AIM since that's really mostly used in america).

even if you want recommendations for a new instant messaging client (e.g. like you said by mozilla), you need to get users to subscribe to the service anyhow, and nobody really likes change unless forced upon them.

i dont give a damn between any of the messengers, its what one the majority of your friends are on. for me, its msn by far. i do prefer it regardless.

it came loaded on my dell axim x50, and it comes preloaded with windows. cant beat convienence.. you have to pay to put aim on your pocket pc.

No you dont, you can download it for free from the AOL UK or CA sites, one of those two.

I used AIM alot longer, but switched to MSN/Win Messenger for ease of use reasons.

That, and all my cool Canadian friends actually chat with me. Pretty much my family is all i know on AIM.. but might give it another shot again someday.. esp if it is free for PDAs
