I am tired of using MSN Messenger. What do all of you use? Is there anything other than MSN, AOL, IRC, and ICQ?) I wonder if the Mozilla folks will invent an open source instant messengers (have they already?). I'm waiting for Google to come out with one, but anything, other than those already named could pretty much get me to switch.

Thanks in advance for all your replies!

it depends what your friends are on.

i have alot of friends outside the US, canada for instance.

i use MSN.

i dont give a damn between any of the messengers, its what one the majority of your friends are on. for me, its msn by far. i do prefer it regardless.

it came loaded on my dell axim x50, and it comes preloaded with windows. cant beat convienence.. you have to pay to put aim on your pocket pc.

Well I use AIM (I hate it) because all my friends use AIM, I can't think of someone I know who uses MSN. I gave GAIM a try but it confused the hell outta me (scary territory, switching IM clients is). Is Trillian a bit more user friendly?

I use Trillian at work for MSN and then MSN at home (don't ask)... Wow, seems like everyone uses one or more of the big four. It seems like MSN is down a lot of the time, especially in the past few weeks. All of my friends and co-workers use MSN, but it's just getting, well, old!

To the smart ass who wrote about posting in this forum, get lost... People like you ruin the forum experience for others.

Trillian is OK (AOL +YM), but the smilies dont match up and end up looking like odd characters on the other persons screens.

Thanks for all the responses. I'm amazed that everyone uses the one of the big four clients, and more amazed ChatZilla hasn't really taken off. Perhaps it's still a work in progress. As I said before, I think Google will create an IM client, well, I'm hoping...
