Hi,

Does anybody know where I can find an instant messaging program similar to AOL IM that I can install on my private network of four computers? I have Coldfusion server installed and running on the network, so I would prefer something like that if possible.

Thanks,

Jason

no IM'ing client is going to allow "only LAN buddies" or anything like that. Also - I don't think it's that easy to just setup an IM server :Q but I could be wrong. I would suggest ICQ so you can just have a "office" list or "private" list.

I used VCM for a similar function a while ago. It didn't have many features, but it did work.

This was quite a few versions ago, so they may have updated it since then.

you could configure AIM to use a different server and find some sort of (legal?) aim server-faker-outer-thing... ;)
