Hi, currently use Me *shudder* and want to upgrade to XP Pro. Thing is, I have all my network and ICS working perfectly currently. Is it possible to literally just install over? Is there a way to remove drivers for say grfx card etc, and then XP install that hardware fine?
Thanks

I would try to avoid doing an upgrade install if at all possible. It might be working now, but there's too much that can go wrong during an upgrade to make it worth doing.

However, you can do an upgrade install by popping the XP Pro CD into the computer while running windows ME. If you have auto play turned on, just follow the instructions that appear.

I DO NOT reccomend this though. You're likley to cause more trouble than its worth.

Good Idea. Even if you do try it and it seems to work fine, most of the problems that could crop up tend to happen down the road. Its the little things that cause problems. Espicaly going from a bug fest like winME :) A friend upgraded from win98 to 2k with an upgrade install (aginst my wishes...grrr...), and he had quite a few problems with it. Most upgrade installs I've seen do. I wouldn't even upgrade my computer from XP home to XP pro using an upgrade install :)
