Installing XP on a Dell 1501 with Vista

My Dell 1501 can loaded with Vista. In my opinion, Vista is a piece of junk. I have a new XP Pro package that I would like in install instead. Any suggestions?

Keep in mind that XP is a dead end whereas you can upgrade directly from Vista to Win 7. Just a thought.

On my desktop (Dell), I had to turn off the raid array in order to change the OS. Is there a similar problem on the laptop?

Depends. I have seen a few Dell laptops that needed an sata driver on a floppy to install WinXP. However, you can just go into the bios and set ide mode instead of AHCI.

However, and I may be wrong, I seem to recall loading an XP onto that model without needing an sata driver.

have you used it with Vista? I have XP at work, Vista on my home desktop and W7 on my HTPC. Didn't use Vista when it came out but now I find XP painful to use. Right now I'd say:
W7>vista>XP
