I am in the process of building myself a new PC and after doing much research, I have read that the Asus P5B Deluxe motherboards install the ATA 133 drivers from CD as they are not present from the bios.
Seeing as I only have a Pioneer 109 DVDR which uses ATA 133 it would seem that I would have a problem. An easy fix would be just to buy a SATA DVD rom and use that to install windows, however since I don't use many cds/dvds it would be a waste in my setup to have more then 1 dvd drive.
Is it possible to do a full install of Windows XP from a 1 gig USB memory stick? I tried to do some research and found a program called BartPE but with a 1 gig USB stick I think I should be able to do a full install instead of a watered down version of XP. Has anyone else tried this? I'm not even entirely sure that Asus P5B will allow boot from USB, but being a fairly new motherboard I'm thinking it should be.
