My new laptop is coming in today and I'd like to streamline the installation of WoW on there. Would it be possible for me to do a full install from the CDs and then copy the whole wow directory from my old laptop on top of this one? I really don't want to go through the whole patch thing and resetting up all of my addons.

i think you can just copy your entire folder from your other pc to this one, no need to install again.

That is correct.

Oh baby I hope that works. I'd rather skip the installation as well if possible :)

You can also create a custom DVD install for WoW as well, although it still takes awhile to install (which I know is one of the reasons why you're trying to simply C&P). My next goal is to slipstream the latest WoW patch into the installer so I can install and not have to upgrade :D. It'll require some serious MPQ editing though.

hmm, most games usually change a registry value or two when you install. That wouldnt happen by just copying the folder. Whatever works though.

Would you rather slipstream windows because you may install it more than once? I've installed WoW a lot more than once or twice and slipstreaming would save me tons of time in the process. I'd go off on a limb and say that WoW patches (the full ones) take as long as a service pack would for me to install!
