Installing Windows XP Using Plextor SATA DVD Drive

I am building a brand new machine running Windows XP. I am planning on using only SATA drives (plus a floppy drive solely to load the SATA drivers). The only optical drive I will be using is the Plextor PX-716SA DVD±R/RW CD-R/RW SATA drive

I know I will need to use a floppy disk to install the SATA drivers during the Windows install since Windows XP does not have native support for SATA, but will I even be able to get that far if I attempt to install XP from a SATA DVD drive? In other words, will I have problems installing XP if I'm running the Windows XP CD-ROM on a SATA DVD drive?

What are the exact specs of the system you're building? When I built my system I didn't need any SATA drivers for my HD.

I have Intel rigs, but have been installing off the sata Dvd for the last 4 diff installs, with different boards, and have had zero problems.
( I have the Plex 12x drive tho, not that it should matter at all).

I dunno about the dual-layer drives, but I have the Plextor 712SA and my XP install disk booted from it with no trouble
