I am building a brand new machine running Windows XP. I am planning on using only SATA drives (plus a floppy drive solely to load the SATA drivers). The only optical drive I will be using is the Plextor PX-716SA DVD±R/RW CD-R/RW SATA drive
I know I will need to use a floppy disk to install the SATA drivers during the Windows install since Windows XP does not have native support for SATA, but will I even be able to get that far if I attempt to install XP from a SATA DVD drive? In other words, will I have problems installing XP if I'm running the Windows XP CD-ROM on a SATA DVD drive?
