Installing Windows XP Pro SP1 onto new PC

I am trying to install windows XP onto a WD 120GB.
It completes the first copying across of the files in DOS but then when it restarts, it just goes back into the DOS mode and repeats what it just did.

I am using a Gigabyte GA-K8NF-9 with a 3500+ Winchester and 512MB Corsair XMS3200.

Are you setup in bios to boot from hard drive first then cd?

Yeah sounds to me like you are setup to boot off of the CD. After the restart make sure the HDD is the first boot device.

I am set up to HDD, CD, Floppy. But in the BIOS, The Hard Drive priorities are Bootable add-in cards.

I have now managed to set the WD120 to first priority but it then comes up saying disk configuration problem. I have disabled SATA RAID in the BIOS and managed to get this far. I have had no problems with this HDD before this motherboard

You might have to press F6 during setup and install SATA drivers.

I tried that but it just comes up saying no Disks have been found. I am now starting to think that the motherboard has some conflicts and may have to send it back.

OK I have now got into the main installation but it keeps coming up with a blue screen saying memory dump. Any ideas whats wrong?

OK I now have windows installed. Anyone tried out XP-64 Yet as I am considering it.
