installing windows ME over previous versions

I know there is a way to install the 3000.2 version of me over a previous os. win98/95 etc.. delete the win.com but is there something else that you need to do?

Nope, just delete or rename the win.com file (make sure there arent multiple win.com files anywhere else on your hard drive) and it should work fine. There's always possibilities of strangness by doing this of course. Worked good for my friend's compaq laptop though.

Pylorns,

I highly recommend you reformat and install WinME on a clean HDD. The importance of doing a clean installing for an OS cannot be emphasized enough. Whenever you install a new OS, I recommend reformating.
