Is it possible to install Windows 98 or at least Windows 95 on a laptap that doesn't have a CD-ROM drive? Can I install over a network? Thanks.

Yes you can install over a network. All you need to do is setup the puters to be on the same network & share the cdrom drive on the host computer.

Would I be able to do this on a clean install? Right now it has Windows 3.1 I believe. I want to reformat and put Windows 98 on it.

You can install using a DOS LAN driver boot disk in either WIN 3.11 or clean install using the formention boot disk.

You have to be carefull with old laptops is that many parts are proprietor, therefor it is best to hunt down the drivers before you atemp to do a install.

Don't waste your time on the dinosaur if it have less than 16megs of ram...Win98 craws at this amount and it is barely enought for Win95.

How would I create a network boot disk? Can anybody send me the files in a zip file? I would greatly appreciate that. My email address is jimlin41@yahoo.com. Thanks.
