Installing Win Programs in Linux?

I have a dual p2 400 setup that I would like to install Linux into, I'm new to Linux and I have never used this OS before. I want to know if it is possible to install windows applocations such as games, ms office, or photoshop in Linux? I plan on using Linux 9.0, Thanks for reading.

Yes it is possible with some apps but is a huge pain in the ass and frankly I wouldn't recommend it to hardly anyone, much less a newbie. For office you can use open office, it's a pretty good replacement. For photoshop, the gimp can do alot of what photoshop can do but not all. There is no such thing as linux 9.0, I guess you mean redhat 9 or something - ?

Don't waste your time. Some work fine, but more than likely there's a native Linux program to do the same thing that's just as good (or better in some cases).

I guess I'll have to fool around with linux and see if switching is worth the trouble. Thanks for all the links and info. 🙂

it going to be trouble. heads up if your a busy man or women keep windows. Linux will take some time and you have to learn the cmds and edit configs and complie sh1t and even sometimes u have to setup ur own online account by editing configs for ethernet card (eth0). But if you got time MO POWER BROTHA!
