Installing Win 7 on BootCamp - Device drivers missing?

I'm trying to install Windows 7 Ultimate on a MacBook MC207LL/A and when the Win 7 install gets to a certain point, I'm greeted by 'a needed device driver is missing, please insert a CD, DVD or USB flash drive with the needed driver...

Well, I also see this same error when trying to install Win 7 on my PC, and resorted to a flash drive to install and told the error message where to go. It seems to be a driver for the CD drive itself that Win 7 is wanting?

Thoughts on this by someone who has installed it successfully?
 
Are you using an official MS system install disc?
Don't think Windows 7 is officially supported yet by Apple's Boot Camp.
Might have better luck running Windows 7 in OSX using Parallels 5 or Fusion 3.
 
Hi I'm using an iso from technet. Oddly enough the same error occurs when trying to install from disc on my pc too, After lots of googling I finally got around the pc install issue by installing from a flash drive. Bootcamp insists on a disc.

Since the '10 year' mac guy I got it from told me it would install I'm kind of bothered by it since that is half the reason I decided to try the MB in the first place. After going back and asking for any tips he then tells me he wouldn't install win on a macbook, it just isn't right.

Have you tried reburning the ISO? And if that still fails, have you tried re-downloading the ISO? If it is also screwing up on your desktop, then I would imagine that there is something wrong with the disc or the ISO.

I put the 7 beta and the 7 RC onto my MacBook and they both installed fine. And I think that Tyranicus has the retail version installed on his MacBook Pro and it also installed without incident.

I would suggest starting from scratch with a new disk or a new ISO, then try it again. You shouldn't be running into any problems.

Any yes, Windows 7 isn't "officially" supported in BootCamp. That doesn't mean it won't work. It just means Apple hasn't released official Windows 7 drivers. The Vista drivers on the Snow Leopard DVD work fine though.

I have it running on mine. Windows 7 Professional Upgrade that I bought on the student deal. No issues. A lot of other people are running strait Windows 7 full install without problems. TheStu is probably right. Bad download. Happens sometimes.

Well I thought it might be a bad download - but it came from technet and I've reacquired it twice.

all it took was a different disc/program combo to make the disc. I've tried 3 now and they all work. problem exists over a laptop dvd burner and 2 desktop dvd burners, all 3 different brands.

odd.
