Installing RAID w/ windows 2k...Help!

so I set up raid array. Then as windows starts to install, I hit f6 when prompted, then s when prompted. Then it says to insert disk into drive a"A" labeled "Manufacturer-supplied hardware support disk." This is where I'm hung up. All that I got with the mobo is the cd w/ drivers on it and some hot rod 100 disk (which I have no idea what it is for). I couldnt move the drivers from the cd to a floppy, I could only open up on the computer I tried to copy them on. So I downloaded and unzipped the drivers and inserted them, but nothing. It doesnt recognize anything on my floppy. What am I doing wrong?

Thaks guys,.....but, that doesnt work either. It says "please wait" and then comes back to the same screen that prompts me to put "Manufacturer-supplied hardware support disk" in. I know my floppy is installed correctly because its recognized in the bios. I have the drivers on the cd-rom, but just cant seem to get them to a floppy.

Did you then try install win2k? I think the drivers probably loaded and the installation will be all good. When it takes you back to that "same screen" hit enter and continue the install. Hope that helps...
 
Maybe you got a defunct diskette. Put the latest Hotrod raid drivers on a floppy disk and try again.
 
John- I did that but same results. This Is why I think I must be doing something wrong

dragonx- I went ahead and tried to install win2k but as it started it said I did'nt have any disks installed. Yet they were recognized by name and model number in the raid process.

Thanks guys I really appreciate your help. Everything is brand new if that maybe helps clear something up.

I think john meant to download the latest drivers online, then put them on a disk. If that doesn't work, maybe I could icq you the floppy files...
 
I may have found a(the) problem. I notice that my floppy has its light on at all times and maybe just because my bios recognizes doesnt mean its alright. So I change floppys and IDE cables, but still that light wont go off. I dont even hear it engage when i insert a floppy. What can I do? Thanks
 
Make sure you have the floppy power connecter on right, if it is backward or if the floppy cable is backward, the light will just stay on. Do you have a Wal-Mart near you? They carry floppy drives for like $15 dollars. You could pick one up and swap it out to make sure your existing floppy drive is not dead. Mine died once, and I just picked one up from Wal-Mart and returned the broken one and said it was defective...just an idea
 
Thanks alot everybody!!

I appreciate your help. Finally got it. It was on backwards, but by default. The cable plugs have notches that only let you plug it in one way. I got to swapping floppy, cables before I finally decided to cut to stupid notches off so I could flip it upside down and .....voila. Thank goodness, it just shouldnt take 1 1/2 days just to load my o.s. Oh well, live and learn.

Again I appreciate the help.
