Installing Raid on a7v

I want to install Raid with win2k. I have a classic original a7v. However, when I hit the F6 when installing, I find that there is a file that win2k setup expects, that is missing. Can anyone please tell me what these files are? Any help is appreciated.

sorry if this is the wrong forum for this, but I didnt know where else to post this.

WIN2k ntkrnl is looking for the Raid Driver , which should come with your installation diskette.
Most of the Raid card need to be plug into PC/server before the installation of driver take
place, else the installation process will void .
Good luck.

In fact,I'm facing problem with raid too, the multiboot OS not work for the Raid card,
and here i'm trying on it.

I dont have a raid card. I have a promise controller (the original a7v). I tried to copy the files in cd drive:\promise\win2k to the floppy, but that is what gave me the error.

lookout at the ASUS web page for the newest set of drivers and put them on floppy in their original directory structure and only the win2k drivers into 'root'.
At least one of these two should work.

I am not sure what you are asking for sure. The A7V has promise controller onboard but isn't raid capable without some modding. The file for install you are taling about that needs to be on floppy are the drivers along with a file called txtsetup.oem. Make sure this file is in the root folder of the floppy.

Ok. the a7v has 2 ata66/33 ports and 2 ata100 ports. win2k setup only detects the drives attached to the former. How do I get it to detect drives attached to the latter? That is my question.

I will try it with the txtsetup.oem (what does this file do????). Will keep u posted.

Ok , You just want w2k to detect your drive on the promise controller. You have to put the drivers off of your cd or downloaded what ever onto a floppy. There should also be the txtsetup.oem that accompanies the drivers. When you press F6 during initial phase of install this tells windows that you have drivers to install. Windows looks for txtsetup.oem on the floppy which tells windows what and where the drivers are.

Tried that. But had some kind of an error. I am going to try to download the latest drivers onto the floppy drive. Hopefully this will work. Will keep you posted.
